Stiffen Rear @ OEM Ride Height

I would like to firm up and stiffen the ride and sag of my rear suspension without changing ride height. Please share any spring/shock replacement options you are aware of. Thanks.

i've tried to look into this as well... to no avail... you'd actually need slightly shorter springs since it would have a higher spring rate in order to sit at the same height... but still... i haven't found anything...

other than those inflatable bags you put inside the spring...

I wonder if it is possible to find a smaller diameter spring the same height, or the proper height to install it INSIDE the original one - then all you'd need is a stiffer shock to match. Do you know of stiffer shock replacements?

Check out this thread and just ignore the air line stuff... This will give you the information you need to get the correct shocks and do the installation.. It is a commonly used shock size on everything from old Buick Skylarks to a number of GM front wheel drive cars. https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...-w-photos.html

Any heavy duty rear shock for a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire will work with stock rear springs on a GD3... The link to Manxman's DIY in my last post will show you how to do the upper shock mounts....

Don't know if there's a way to do it without going coilover.

I've got a Firestone air bag kit waiting to be installed into the Fit. An air-line tee fitting was procured to allow filling both bags at the same time, and to de-pressurize the system in case anything causes a loss of pressure. The Air-Lift air bag kit in my Buick does a great job of hauling around 18 gallons of gas on a full tank plus 40-50 lbs of work crap in the trunk every day.

I was never able to find air bags that would work on the Fit.. I opted for air strings... I had bags in the rear springs of a old Lincoln and loved the weigh they worked.. If yours work I hope you will share your experience with them, parts number and where you got them... I really want some of them.

Air Springs

I am also interested in using Air Springs to stiffen the rear of my GE8, But I need vendor and P/N's. To carry extra stuff without bottoming out.
Now using jcwhitney airlift 1000 for 2 years now, work great. P/n. A1360729. $99.00.
