HELP: Installing Front Coilovers for GD3

What are you guys using to hold the strut piston in place while torquing down the upper nut into the shock tower?

I tried using a 10mm wrench and vise grips on the upper flat portion to hold the strut piston from spinning but I can't seem to really get a grip and it's causing me to damage the upper thread...

*** Forgot to mention I'm installing the Skunk2 Pro-C Coilovers on my 2008***

I have b52 coilovers on my fit and I took off the adjustment knob on top and put an Allen wrench in it's place

The allen knob for the pro-c is the setting for struts dampening....Would that possibly damage the adjustability by misusing it in that fashion?

Can you remove the adjustment knob? If so the inner diameter should be the shape of a larger allen wrench. I don't have any experience with the pro-c, but I am on my second set of coilovers and they both have been pretty much the same

The plastic knobs are removable but other than that, nothing else is coming off to fit a larger allen key..

You would need to get the correct sized wrench or adjustable wrench that holds to the flattened section on the threads to prevent it from rotating and use a ratcheting/boxed end wrench to tighten the nut down.

If all else fails and you have to use a last resort, lightly tag it a couple times with an electric or air impact to get it started/tightened. Note: I'm not accountable for any damages if this is under/over tightened.
