Rear Disc - Seriously Trying to Get OEM DIY Sorted Out

-Test fit pics in post #59
-How-to in post #83
-Install pics in post #84

CONVERSION BRACKETS
-scarebird brackets - i'll post a link once they list them for sale officially

DISC
-any rear disc from a 1997 Acura Integra (NOT the type R)
-the ones I used: Centric rear disc - 12140017

PAD
-any rear pad from a 1997 Acura Integra (NOT the type R)
-the ones I used: Stoptech Street Perf rear pad - 30903740

CALIPER
-rear calipers from a 1997 Acura Integra (NOT the type R)
-the ones I used (came with clips, bleeders, banjo, and crush washers): Centric reman rear caliper - 14140532 L; 14140531 R
-you'll also need the parking brake arms and bolts: 43267-sh3-931 L arm; 43247-sh3-931 R arm; 45240-sc2-003 bolts (4 bolts needed)

PARKING BRAKE CABLES
-87 acura legend coupe: BC94043 rear left; BC94044 rear right
-holding and cotter pin: 43471-SD2-930 holding pin, 90705-SD2-931 cotter pin

BRAKE LINES
-contact Fastbrakes.com and ask for the Honda Fit conversion brake lines - swivel end, good quality/price
OR, make your own
-approximately 36" in length, female 10x1mm end, 30-45* banjo 10x1mm end

you can do it cheaper than I did, but I spent $540 total... the largest expense being the calipers, conversion brackets, then brake lines, and on down...

Still may never do this (lite weigh is key for me and good front pads/rotors/fluid is all I need for AutoX) but tagging for info and interest!

I was always under the impression del sol rear hub was used with del sol rotors and ep3 calipers. Still didn't learn what ebrake cable to use though.

discovered that the 1997 integra rear brakes = the del sol rear brakes...

i sent a message to the ebay gentleman to ask him about rear spindle/caliper brackets and if the ones that are sold for the del sol will work for us... and if not if they might develop them (they'd be pretty darn similar)...

we'll see how this goes...

or getting to the point, does anyone who bought a kit know the length of the parking brake cables that they were given?

looking at the ebay brackets you would need to drill a few holes for the abs sensor and the countersunk hole for the allen bolt.

here's our question wish-list at this point:

1. does anyone who bought a rear disc conversion kit from t1r or fastbrakes, know the length of the parking brake cables that they were given per side?

2. on the rear spindle, what is the bottom center allen bolt for if the other four hold the spindle onto the axle?

3. what is the thread size/pitch of the honda fit brake lines at the rear drum? (do the conversion kits simply hook into the very end of the rear brake line or further forward?)

and as a note. it seems the clock that the fastbrakes kit and the ebay brackets put on the caliper is ideal to aid in properly bleeding the rear calipers... the t1r brackets don't place the bleeder valve quite high enough in relation to the piston...

In my best Top Gear voice: "GOOD NEWS!!"

Scott,

We think we will have you handled in 2-3 weeks. We have ordered the parts we need. We will then develop and test. As with our other brackets, we will design for off the shelf parts. We anticipate the brackets will be about $ 100.00.
*takesabow*

so roughly, price-wise, here's what we're looking at:
-brackets - $100
-rotors - $20
-pads - $30
-reman calipers - $200 (no core refund included)
-parking brake cables - $60
-ss brake lines - $60

APPROX TOTAL = $470

BMW Alpina reports on the GE that the parking brake cables that are needed are,

Total length of the parking brake cables from end to end about 69 to 70 inches.
still need some help finding out this info:

1. does anyone who bought a rear disc conversion kit from t1r or fastbrakes, know the length of the parking brake cables that they were given per side?

2. what is the length of the rear ss brake lines that you ended up using?

just got another email from mark at scarebird... as we thought the current brackets they make don't work for the fit, but he said they are working on creating new ones and will let me know when they're ready for test fitting!

more good news

so it looks like they've got their design done, and will be sending it into their laser cutter with the next batch of stuff... so in 2-3 weeks they should have it in hand...

they're basing it off the 96-01 acura integra rear brakes (NOT the "R" version)... I think this will be good to help keep rotating and unsprung mass, and brake bias good for those of us who want to stay stock front sized stuff...

i'm working with them to get fitment and the parts list together for everyone... so once i have it and have confirmed that it works, they'll put it up for sale for everyone.

I DO NEED HELP with these things:

1. what is the length of rear brake line for the 1997 acura integra (the length that is replaced when doing ss lines)?

2. ANYONE who has purchased and installed a t1r kit or fastbrakes kit: what is the length of the cables? and any pictures of the setup would get major +rep and a big up from me...

3. feedback on reman caliper brands? which are decent/which are crap: centric, raybestos, a-1 cardone, nastra, beck/arnley, retech, wagner, power stop, napa eclipse, altrom?
