I'm hoping someone can help with this problem. The front tophats on my gd3 are moving around when driving, I can hear them clunking and when I have it on jack stands and turn the steering wheel lock to lock have about an inch of travel front to back. I don't think this is normal and does drive me a bit crazy. Anyone else have this issue and what was the cause? Thanks for the help

Mine are doing exactly the same. Been doing it ever since I lowered the car on Buddy Clubs.

 

im on buddy clubs n they move a lil when turning but i dont think there suppose to move alot mine just turns

 

Did you guys change the bearings in the tophats. I'm on bone stock suspension with 40k miles on my 08. Will probably get a new set of tophats and bearings and see what's broken.

 

Is this a thing only noticed by GD owners? I ask because my GE has been lowered for over 30k miles, and no signs of movement, all feels fairly solid.

 

Tonight I figured out the problem. The bearings have a bit play in them and as a result wore the rubber tophats enough to have a few mm of play. I've replace both and problem gone. Hope that helps someone
