2013 to 2007 damper

A friend of mine, who is as far opposite a car enthusiast as it gets, just lost his 98 buick ($1400 car). He was mostly looking at $900 fords and chevys but eventually settled on a 2007 fit for $4500. The car was looked over by a mechanic as well as a fairly aggressive test drive by the both of us. One of the issues with the car is a leaky strut in need of replacement. What is the dimensions of the 07 rear damper and will a 13 fit's damper fit on an 07 fit?
I wont even ask about the front, bout 99% sure it wouldn't work.
thanks in advance for any info.
By the way, I have only ever driven the ge and quite liked the gd.....almost better.

Do you have an extra 2013 damper laying around? If so, you can just compare the two. Unfortunately, I just boxed up and shipped my stock 2007 suspension a fee days ago or I'd help with the measurements.

Yep, got my leftover stock ones from my 2013. Only reason I ask is to save him the cost of rear suspension. Will most likely try anyway. They only take bout 15min to remove. Thanks anyway.
