omfg not to be a smart ass but did ANYBODY read his first post? he said he's riding on "The stock Honda Alloy rims have Yokohama AVID V4S 205/55/15 tires mounted on them" so he did NOT increase the size of the wheels, but only widened the stock tire by 10mm. Its just that everybody posted "well duh ur gonna rub w/ bigger wheels/tires setup" but he's riding on stock wheels n almost stock tires lol.

wrong. 205/55/15 tires...yes that doesnt increase the size of the rims (duh) but the size of the tire is different. it's wider (205) and the ratio is still 55, but the tire is now 205 so the profile of the tire is higher now too. and it still mounts on 15 in. rims. so overall, his wheel is larger than OEM by both width and diameter. the "55" is a ratio, so it is affected by the new width of the tire, 205.

I have just got and Iam sitting next to a set of GF210s I am rolling on some 15x6.5 Knoig Heliums +35 offset. The rubber is 195/55/15 should I expect any rubbing?! I hope not!

Bouncing ride

i would say that you should get the tanabe GF210s if you want a better overall ride plus a an aggressive stance...

I lowered my Fit with Tanabe GF210 a few days ago. These are supposed to lower the front by 1.5in and rear by 1in. In fact the car was instantly lowered by half an inche more. The car looks great. But the ride is bumpy and not soft.

My tires are Yokohama 225 x55 R15 with original Sport mags. They did not rub B4 the spring installation. Now they do. A lot!

I like my tires. Very smooth and quiet.
I don't like my springs. I will remove them this week end. Anyone in Canada interested? They are for sale.

i like the springs and i expected as much with the bouncy ride...its alot better than cutting the springs...i got the springs for now and will work on coilovers than rims next...for now i will mod the motor. I got the springs cause i really did not like the stock stance of the FIT...in order to ride right you either keep it stock or just hook the whole suspension up...my only drawback is i am working on making more $$ to make this happen...at the end i like the springs

Question Rear only lowered?

I just got back from the tire shop where they installed my new Yokohama AVS Winter 195 X 55 R15. Of course there is no rubbing anymore...and guess what? The ride is almost as smooth as it ever was. Obviously, 225X55R15 and lowerind springs seems like a mismatch. So now I am reconsidering weither I should sell my Tanabe GF210. But I do have to put the original springs for the winter...Or, could I just swap the front ones?
An opinion anyone?

Well..it's not "smooth"
It's not really bouncy either...the car has a short wheelbase. It's scienticily proven that the Fit will have a bouncy ride.

But it's not rough by any means...well until you slap some lowering springs on there. Then the struts/shocks blow out and you're hittin' the bumpstops and the camber's way off and yadda yadda yadda...

Gotta say, it certainly does look a whole lot sleeker lowered.

...from what I was told: 1 to 1.5in drop does NOT alter the camber etc. on the front of alignment on the rear as on my 2000 Accord. After a year on that car I could see the rear tyres getting extra wear and had to put a kit on the back.
Anyone confirm this??

I call BS. The fit already has some nice negative camber in the rear. Lowering it WILL cause more negative camber...just a fact.
It may look good and ride firmer but get ready for the consequences of the lower ride height.
Just don't want people to be disappointed...

Devil Doc,

I have these springs installed with 15x6 wheels and 155/50/15 tires with not much camber at all.

I'm not surprised that you had rubbing issues with the 225/55R15s after you lowered it. They are 1.3" taller than stock, so are 0.65" closer to the suspension and chassis, and over an 1" wider. That's asking for rubbing. Don't mix springs either, the handling won't be balanced.

The way the suspension on the Fit is designed, camber doesn't seem to be an issue when lowered 2" or less.

I have the skunk2 lowering springs, with my current wheels I only scrub if it is from a big bump, or very hard cornering. All that I can find that it is rubbing on though is a small plastic rivet, no tire damage, and the rivet hardly looks scrapped. Guy at the tire shop said it was just fine, I could roll the fenders but it would be money wasted, and I have to agree.

dammn so your not rubbing that much with the 17s...mine looks drop like hell and i am guessing that 17s will rub real hard...even though i am a novice AutoXer i am not going bigger than 16s...hook it up with closer picks to show the space you have with that set up...lets get technical
