megan coilover help
megan coilover help
so my package came in and me and my friend put on the coilovers but today i heard a knocking noise under the hood and it was this? anyone know why its doing this?
It looks like maybe your spring popped out of place. Jack it up on that side and you should be able to see if something is out of place. That definately isn't good news... I wouldn't drive anymore before that's fixed. It shouldn't stick out that much.

the spring is fine its the strut.. if you jack it up it goes back down like it should and the rubber piece sits flush. i drove on it and it just feels like im driving on coilovers with no shocks to absorb anything kinda weird
i feel you man, i had that problem also. The reason why its doing that is probably because he didn't put it on right. make sure that you use the stock coilover stuff. You're suppose to use an allen wrench while tightening down that top nut. Either way from what i can remember, that nut that is above your long washer is suppose to be below it, and around the same height as the bottom rubber mount so no pertruding. sry spelling is crap but hopefully this helps if not check out this site. it should most likely help you out. Is it like both sides? What you may want to do is take off both wheels and compare them. Tighten anything that may be loose and worse case, take off that whole strut and do it again.
btw it feels like you have no springs cause it's a racing aspired suspension meaning that its a lot stiffer so you're care handles better.

you have to use the factory metal hat. remove the spring holder plastic
thing and pry off the boot. put it above the megan's main spring,
use the 19mm nut to hold the metal hat just like on your stock struts.
then put the bottom half the rubber mount on, install it on the car.
put your top mount and washer, your piston nut and walla.

btw, this is the kinda support you would get if you guys get
the EnduraTech coilovers...cause Jorge, Justin, and I all
did the install ourselves and know EXACTLY wat needs to
be done to install properly.

Hahaha i gotcha on that last thread.
(I'd say 90% of the people don't know about it. I've helped a lot of peeps and I still get very few. hahah i was in the red for a bit cause some idiot hahahahaha)
thanks guys i will try and jack with it some more tomorrow when im off work. i will let you guys know the out come. did they flip the rubber piece up side down on the tunerzine project? cause it looks like the stock rubber part that sits on the spring is flippped
not sure wat they did over there (too lazy to check
) but,the bottom half of the rubber mount should be so that the cone is
facing upward (smaller end top). if you think about it, the mount
has to pivot alittle bit around the tower opening while the sus
compresses so it makes sense to have the cone pointing upwards.
hey justin!yeh, these are newbish issues that could be prevented with the
Endura-Techs.
just teasing just teasing. no disrespect here.
you have to be able to laugh at mistakes and issues if
you want to keep at this modding car hobby. i can tell
you that much. i know it can get frustrating at times but
its useless to get mad. just learn, teach others, and move on.
