Lift?

the other thread i found got side tracked on driving style. What if i wanted to give my fit another inch of clearance? Could that be obtained by a larger rim, tire, or both? Coilovers? Or do I have to take it down to these guys (Maui Off Road Center - Kahului, HI) Home Page ?

if you add a larger rim, your car will raise an inch, but your suspension has an inch less travel and your speedo will be off. if you're trying to raise the car so it has more ground clearance, i guess you could do this. if you want to off road and have more ground clearance and suspension travel, you need to upgrade the suspension, which may have to be custom.

See if you can find some coil spacers that would fit, I know the off-road guys use them like crazy for econo-lifts. The only thing you have to watch is it over-extends the strut and you might end up with a little more roll in the car around corners.

Anyway, Just a suggestion! good luck!

You need a custom coil spring made.
coilsprings.com
Takes about 4-6 weeks. You will have to send them the stock spring for them to dyno and engineer from there. Cost I think is about $180 pr. There is Kansas.

Of course the driveway is the problem it's at least a 45 degree slope and if you go straight up or straight down you scrape. Will Coilovers allow me to lift it?

How much of a lift are you talking? Maybe I am wrong, but a 45 degree slope is getting close to 2" of lift for this car!
