different offset front and rear...

what would happen if i only increase (push out) the offset in the back wheels? now that the track is different, will the car handle different? i don't like how the back has a little gap compared to the front... thanks.

I don`t know how different it will handle... but I can tell you that there is a 5mm differance between the front and back fenders per side.. so you could run ...lets say for example a 17x7 42mm offset wheel front and rear a put 5mm spacers on the rear to sit pretty much flush without..rubbing

Well "pushing the wheels out" by 10mm on each side technically should mean that you are increase your track width, which usually translates to more stability during cornering. This is one of the reasons why a Ferrari is wider than your Fit. But like Claymore said, your offset is bound purely by the width of your wheel well / fender lip. The more you push out, the more chance it will rub on various parts of the wheel well.

There are ways around that, but that's not a discussion for this thread.

I've been waiting for something like this to be mentioned. If it had been mentioned before I must have missed it.

Spacers have a tendency to make your steering wheel wobble at high speed, translating into a very annoying shudder in the car....

I'd rather get the proper offset that you really want than resort to spacers...

if you do get two wheels that have a different offset as the other two, you gotta keep those on either the front or back, so watch not to cause two different offsets per axle. also must work for both front clearance and rear if you want to rotate the tires.

thanks for all the info guys! right now i have the 16 inch rims. every time i wash my car, i end up staring at the back. not the height gap, but the gap from left to right. i never noticed when my car was at stock height, but since its lowered, its more noticable. so thats why i always wondered, what if.......

thanks again!
