Does anyone buy aftermarket 14's?
I'm wondering if anyone was running aftermarket 14's?
I'm looking at these Kosei wheels on tirerack at $104 a piece and it says 9.3 lbs....must be a typo on the weight.
Kosei K1 TS Light Grey Painted
Just wanted to run some cheap sticky rubber for daily driving. 14" RA1's are priced decently and so are Azenis RT615's.
Car would also be getting a rear sway bar and some form of suspension that's undecided..the choices seem slim and hard to find. I can't even find shocks for this car.

if you want lightweight cheap wheels, get some konig heliums. i think they're like around 11lbs per rim....i know for a fact, they're a lot lighter than stock oem though.
Buy Konig Rims, Konig Helium rims, Muteki Lug Nuts: JLB Motorsports
imo, 14 inch wheels are way too small. 15" are small enough.

what do you mean by too small? for looks? i don't really care too much about that. it seems the tradeoff for price, weight and cheaper tires is worth it. Can you see any other disadvantages besides looks?
also thanks for the link on the Helium . Killer price for a nice looking wheel. Would 205-50-15 rub with the 40mm offset? The car would be lowered between 1 and 2 inches

well if looks aren't a factor, then i guess it wouldnt really matter for you. for me, i'd have to go with looks and performance.
i'm not sure about those tire specs bc i'm still a wheel noob, but i'm learning.
from doing research, i think staying with the 195/55/15 is probably your best bet. 205 might cause some rubbing if you're closer to 2inches on a drop. i'm dropped on eibach sportline(1.8F/2.0R). when i had my stock tires/wheels, i didn't rub at all.

tires would be too big for my taste.....
you can get 15s with the right tires and they will be the same weight as some 14s with tires. if your doing it for weight, I think its a waste. Price of 14's would be cheap... but the selection would be smaller as well.

They sucked because it killed the handling characteristics of the car.
I know most of it was due to my tire size and the tires being all seasons. After the 14's were put on the car had bad understeer. Other than that the car felt more lively. She zipped around more easier.
I was running 14x6.5in TSW Quads. The wheels had a 35mm offset and looked great on the car.
Tires were 205/60/14's. I wanted to keep the tires in spec and also keeping them somewhat side.
Heres pics. I do miss these wheels.

If I were to do 14's again, I will be on 225's.

I was thinking about running Toyo RA1's in 205-55-14 or Falken Azenis Rt615's in 195-60-14.
Both these tires have extremely strong sidewalls for autocross or track duty. The RA1 is the spec tire for many different spec classes
Also buddy club coilovers + progress rear sway.
And i really like how your car looked with the 14's. The car had a nice stance. What kinda suspension and how low was it?
