My new wheels

Hi everyone. Just ordered my new wheels and tires for my new vbsport mt fit that I bought last week. The dealer I bought it at had a vbs pimp out with the same wheels i ordered, so I already know how they'll look. Not sure how it'll affect the ride quality. if you have an idea please let me know. The tires are Nexen 3000 205/40/17 and the wheels are 17's obviously. Hope you like them as much as i do. click below to see picture. hope to have them by next week.

Urban Racing Type 8 Wheels, Urban Racing Wheels, Urban Racing Type 8 Rims, Type 8 Wheels

you'll need to slam it if you want to look good in 17's.

Sorry bud, not my type of wheel either. But it doesn't matter what we think, if you like them, that's all that matters!

Not my cup of tea but I think you could pull them off. Is your fit blue? Congrats on the buy though

no...by slamming your fit...is not just "lowering it" ... we are talking more then 2.5 inches buddy. no wheel gap, its the only way 17's look nice on a fit.Trust me. i used to have a gap where i could only stick a sharpy under the fender and the tire. that used to make my car look like crap. now im tire tuckin ...inches away from rim tucking, and now my car looks Right.

when i get my car fixed(it got hit by a 4runner when i was parked) i will post up pictures of the new set up. maybe then you will get an idea on how low you NEED to be with 17's

I don't think you need to lower your car that much to make 17's work. It depends on what the rim looks like. I had 17's on mine over the past summer with just Eibach lowering springs and I think it had the right amount of drop.

^^ and the point is you 'HAD' 17's.

rule of thumb: wheel gap needs to be at least 1/2 of the sidewall thickness.

That's pretty much the amount of gap I had with just the springs. I think overall it was somewhere between 0.5 to 0.75 the sidewall. I was able to stick my fingers in between the fender and the tire, but that was about it.

yep, but when you put the proportion of the wheels to the car,
you have to slam it to make 17's work... well, at least for me.

and im not about to slam a street driven car.

i mean look at this... top page. this is barely acceptable

Ahhhh no way man I like those wheels. Those will look tough on your VBP Fit. Good find.

I'm partial to the colored or slightly colored rims, just make sure you keep them up, or they will start to look bad. You'll just need to keep them clean and keep a nice coat of polish on them and I don't think you'll have any problems.

my car is about that low. is that the jdm front.becuase it doesnt really look "right" with the big wheels.

the usdm version looks "right" with the slammed fit.

+1. the jdm nose is kinda stubby.

some 17s look great.

i think simple designs like the volk monoblocks, gram lights, and the work emotion series look good in a 17s (and your rg's). in the case of the op's prospective wheels, there they're too busy, blingy and too much $h!t going on....
