Help!! My New tires are rubbing!!!

I just purchased 4 rims with tires. And the front tires rub whenever I hit a bump or make a sharp turn. I have 16x7 + 42 offset and they are with 205/45/16 Falken tires, lowered on Tein coilovers. Has anyone else have an issue with rubbing? Any imput on how to fix this. thank you in advance!

either raise it up some or add some negative camber

Is it even possible to camber the front wheels? I have tein basics dropped to the lowest setting, but it doesnt even look like its sitting that low, one finger. My back wheels looks lower.

Yes it is possible to camber the front wheels. You can read more about it in the attached thread. https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-suspension-brake-modifications/15129-camber-kit-questions-alignment-front-rear-questions-specs.html. Hope this helps. Its a good read when it comes to suspension changes.

well in theory when you lower your car ...you will create camber.

you must be DUMPED dude. cuz i barely rub, and im tire tucking.

try taking out your fender lining, or tucking it up more. i think thats what your hitting. or at least thats what im hitting.

either that or get your fenders rolled out a bit more.

If I take out the fender lining wouldnt I have water or debris that will go in the headlight? Yes I think that is what the tire is rubbing. I thought it wouldnt rub because everyone one this board was telling me that it wouldnt rub with the 16x7 +42 offset with 205/45/16 tires From the looks on the car it doesnt looked slammed at all. Anyone local to take a look

FRONTS are the ones that are rubbing NOT the rear. anyway to fix this? I hear negative cabler rasing the coilovers, cutting the cover? which is the best method. Right now my issue is that the front is not dropped that much so if I raise it it will look high compaired to the rears. camber? is that even possible for the fronts>>>>> tire wear an issue? Cutting the plastic flaps could help but wouldnt that hurt the headlights or other components? Anyone?

Let it rub... Problem solved. It wont hurt anything but the tires. And its not like theyll pop. Itll just leave little marks. The front may ware down the fender lining a little.

Rubbing in the front is the fender lining and the clips. Pop the clips out. Push the fender lining up and over the fender lip (inside wheel well)
Roll the fender lip upward. You can roll the lip without pushing/pulling the fenders out.
You may not have to roll with the fender lining tucked.

Is that how you do it? Just letting it rub?

I lived with it for months with my Enkeis. Just turn the radio up. Its just noise. The offset was so extreme I had to take them off. My front fenders have little cracks above the wheels. Yours wont do that.

Look above and try what I said.
Remove the fender lining clips. Push the fender lining up and over the fender lip. The fender lining will still be there to keep grim/water from anything but its not sitting on the fender lip like from the factory.
And water/grim wont get into the headlights anyway. Theyre sealed.

The lip from the fender will hold it up plenty. Youll hear the lining "pop" as it clears the fender lip.
It wont go anywhere.

Try it and tell us how it goes.

So I pop the plastic holders, those square clips first, first the push up the plastic fender lining right and it should click somewhere and it hold automatically right?

it should hold it right away but if you roll the fender lip a little more upwards it will make it a lot harder for the liner to pop out. A baseball bat and a heat gun should be sufficient to get that lip rolled without cracking the paint. Again you are rolling the lip of the fender on the inside of the wheel well, not the fender itself.

let us know how it goes.

First, are your tire's rubbing your fender's wheel well's or your suspension? If it's your suspension, I say either go back and raise your setup(Tire rubbing suspension very bad, look at the recall's of the GTO's from Pontaic in the first 2 year's.Some tire's were to wide and they caused some blowout's.)The other option is if you don't have adjustable camber's(some company called Ingle's sell them/not sure of the spelling)you need to get them right away.I lowered my old Integra 2 inches and without them, I drove 1 minute on the road and the car yanked right so hard it almost sent me off the road.

Well to be honest I dont really know if its rubbing on the suspension or the fender, but whenever I take a sharp turn or go over a little bump I hear this horrible scrapping noise. All I know is that with the setup of 16x7 +42 offset and 205/45/16 tires with lowering, many have said that it should not rub. but it does.

Anytime you hear any weird noise's from a modification you better have the professional's look at it.Don't go by what people think it should do(Trust me on that one). Also did you install adjustable camber's in your setup?Everytime you do even minor mod's to the engine/brake's/suspension, you will almost alway's need to do other mod's to the accessory piece's for it to run correctly and be reliable.
