Stop Rubbing. Rear Bumper Screw Delete
Stop Rubbing. Rear Bumper Screw Delete
I was rotating the tires on my wife's Fit tonight and remembered a couple people on here complaining about their rear tires rubbing. So, I thought I'd be a nice guy and take a picture of the way I got rid of the rear screw that holds the bumper on.
All I did was take the screw out and grind down the mounting tab with a dremel, and then rolled the fenders. Then I just drilled a 1/8 inch hole through the bumper and what was left of the mounting tab on the fender. Next, to prevent rust, I went over the now exposed metal surfaces with some NHBP touch up paint I had in the garage for my Accord. Then I just ran a zip tie through the holes to secure the bumper.

Good mod. The little bit of rolling I see looks good.
You see that black plastic clip/liner behind the tie you added? Thats what I was rub on. My Enkeis actually broke that piece on both sides of my Fit. My rear bumper rubbed itself away.
I can pull the corners of my rear bumper off with no effort.

Nope, I have the zip tie pretty tight.
That really depends on the wheel and tire combination you're running, ride height, and alignment settings, so it's hard to say yes or no. My best advice would be to eliminate the screw first, and then test it out. If you're still rubbing, roll the fenders.
Mine doesnt, and I dont have anything holding it on or inward.
