Time for new tires. Proxes T1R opinions?

I need to order new tires tomorrow. I have Falken Ziex 512's now. They've been good tires but I want something a little more agressive this time. I'm interested in Proxes T1R's because they are light... 4 lb lighter than most anything else. I've found several reviews complaining about soft side walls on them, but they are mostly reviews comparing them to Azenis 615's and the like; also on much heavier more powerfull cars. Anyone have experience with these?
They are $80 /per tire at Edge Racing. Azenis 615's are $72

If you don't mind getting new tires sooner down the road then i would go with proxes t1r. they are a softer compound tire and have excellent grip. treadwear is on the low side. great price for the t1r's though.

where as the azenis 615's may last longer
i have never bought falken tires so i can't tell you about them

i like to stick with yokohama and bridgestones and bf goodrich's
but that's just me

hope i helped a bit

had those on the miata (and the fit for about 500 miles till I decided 35mm offset was too much and rubbing was lame). Liked them a lot. They wore suprisingly slowly for their grip level. I had probably 10k on them and there was a lot left.

I've got them and love them! Much grippier than the Parada Spec 2's and General Exclaims I've had before on other cars...

The Toyo tires are good but like others said they have low wear numbers. I wouldn't count on getting even 10k miles. The lighter weight is from thinner sidewalls and carcass for softer ride and the reduced weight helps a bunch on acceleration.
You pay your money for what you get.
You should mention your wheel and current tire sizes.

I have 15'' Konig Heliums w/ 195 55 15 Falken 512's now...
That's what i suspected, regarding the weight/sidewalls.
I just want something a little stiffer with decent grip and decent treadlife... 20-25k. The guys at edge racing said the Falken 912 (replaced the 512) is stiffer and it's cheap... so I think I'll go that route. I traded the VW in for the Fit so I would stop throwing money at it... can't justify high end tires.
