New Fit Owner, Wheel Help Please

Sorry I posted this in General and was directed here (should have read the forums before hand)

Hi everyone!

Just bought a Honda Fit and was looking for some suggestions on wheels for it, I bought the base model so no alloy wheels and that is the one thing I really do not like about the car. The dealer did not have a Sport and the base Fit was an used 07 with 10k miles on it at a nice price.

So any suggestions would be appreciated, not looking for anything crazy just a nice looking wheel. It's the Red fit.

Edit: I honestly don't know much about wheels so I would like some input before I go shopping for some this weekend.

jlbmotorsports.com

they have really good prices.

go with white, gold, or highly polished wheels man. no black

16" rims imo are best on the fit, but 15's will do.

you should buy the lip kit from tunerzimage.com to make your fit look like a sport but without the spoiler

rota,konig are decently priced wheels

Personally I would buy a lip kit first, because I think it makes a huge difference in the way the Fit looks. But it seems that 16s are the size of choice for most Fit owners. I thinks white looks great on Milano red. Check out the mugen knock-off from Rota. I think they are the circut 8s or 10s. Something like that. Or find some real mugen wheels if you can afford them.

We recommend 15, 16, or 17" wheels 7" width and 205/45x16, 205/40x17 or 205/50x15 tires for looks and performance; 175/65x15 on 15" wheels for best mpg.
Aftermarket wheels should have 42 mm offset minimum if you stay stock height and 45 mm minimum if you drop 1-1.5". Try to get wheels that weigh no more than 15 lb if you can.

Would I be able to get 40mm offset at stock height with a 15" wheel without rubbing?

Not with 205 section tires but you might squeak by with 195/55x15. Though we did not see rubbing with 195/55x5 tires on a 40 mm offset we did monitor one report of rubbing, and the tire to fender clearance is tight.

One way to at least reasonably check is to place a 5/8" thick post vertically against the sidewalls of your stock tires on stock rims and see if it slides upward between the tire and fender. If it makes it you have reason to expect 195 tires on 15x6 or 7/40 wheels will work.
If it doesn't, you can still get away with it by using stiffer springs/shocks as you can find in the suspension posts to limit suspension compression trvel - yes the Monroe AirLift MA811's are a good choice but there are others. We are partial to those and thre are a lot of good photos and help from many who have used it. There are some really good mechanics and DIY'ers on Fit Forum.

The Fit lugbolt is 12mm diameter x 1.5 mm pitch I believe. (could be 1.25 but likely not)
If the thread has one turn every 1.5 mm, in 12 mm there should be 7 to 8 turns between starting and tightened against the wheel for safe engagement.

Sorry I had asked another non-wheel question but found a thread that answered it all, so I edited my post.

My wheels should be in today and Mugen Visors tomorrow

YAY for first two mods.

Only probable with 195/55x15 tires. Not with 205's.
