for a set of some mugen nr's? falken? nitto? kuhmo? bfg? bridgestone? yokohama? what? personally i lean towards bfg just cuz i grew up in the desert and well duh... but then bridgestones are huge in the formula class?! i've heard falken, i've seen nitto... wtf dude?

 

If you are looking for racetrack performance go to Kumho V10's, Hoosier R6's, or BFG R1's or Pirelli PZero Corsa. Or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup. Or Falken Azenis. Whatever has the size you want.
None will last long but while they are there Corvettes and Porsches will have trouble hanging on corners.
PS bring wads of money. These things cost $200 to 300 apiece and have 50 to 200 wear ratings.

fukcin awesome! next, what about for daily driving but really super hyper agressive almost track style driving, seriously tho, i deliver pizza in a hilly curvy so cal city... not sure what ratings mean, i guess i can wiki that shit later tonight. and for my crx back in the day i would drop a buck and a quarter on 16" lo-pro bfgs... so i'm lookin at, gawd... $150-$200 a piece range. thansk again! $75-$100 would be nice. $50, can't be any good?

 

affordable grippy tire choices for a street car are the falken azenis rt615's(great autox tire) and the hankook R-S2 z212 is also a great tire for the money. both are 200 tread rating. the hankooks i've heard perform better on road courses and the falkens are better suited on autox events. the falkens get hot fast and become greasy when road racing for extended periods of time. both of these tires are border line R compound and will not last very long if daily driven. i'm actually going to give the hankooks a try when i'm due for tires again.

p.s. the hankooks have chunking issues if raced on hard with full tread. it is wise to have them shaved down to 6/32's to prevent this issue if your going to use them as race tires. also the hankooks are 3/4" wider than the falken in the exact same 205/50r15 size

okay, maybe i went a lil overboard on the whole grip thing. i was just looking for the best grip in a daily driver, super hyper aggresive daily driver that is. i push my shit to the brink and i don't wanna (nobody does) lose it comin down a hill around a corner at an intersection and plow into the cars sitting at the light. so i want a tire that will hold up in those conditions for like 5-10 minute runs at a time several times every hour 4-8 hours a day. looking at all the suggestions so far, i noticed mostly comp sets... lol! crazy foos. i repped most of you.

 

sounds like the falken azenis rt-615 is a good choice for you then. not a comp tire but still really good. 200 tread rating. probably a 10-15k mile tire with a spirited daily driver. which is decent for a border line R compound tire. they heat up quickly and give great traction. but need to be cooled down if used for long periods of hard use. ~20+min

 

I agree, but I hate them in the rain......they really suck but that's not why I have them. I bought them to be the grippiest grippy grip street tires. LOL

 

the falkens are nice.

michelin pilot exalto summer tires are SUPER grippy, but they are not cheap.

bfgoodrich gforce sports are nice for a summer tire, and they have a 320 tread rating, maybe not as super aggresive as you are looking for, but aggressive and grippy nonetheless. falken fk 42's are more toned down than the atenzis as well.

the bfgoodrich g sports are about 80 bucks a tire. pretty good imo.

 

bridgestone re-01r or dunlop star specs. tirerack has a great comparo with those tires in particular. star specs are the new hot tire for street class time attack events.

re-01r rides very nicely, btw. and the falkens get greasy quick, something to consider if you're hard on tires.

 

The Star Specs are best for buck. I'm running them on Enkei's. Lite wheels +
high grip = big fun. You can feel them at the limit better. I trust these tires, if I go in too hot, I just let off and they hook up.
