SSR Type-C w/ RE-O1R

I underestimated how much lightweight wheels and high performance tires would effect the ride and handling. Suffice it to say I am blown away by the difference-- especially the tires. Bridgestone RE-O1R are totally insane.

I know this look isn't for everyone, but I wanted something a little more track and a little less street. 16 X 6.5 +45 offset , 205/45

On a sidenote: I also just added the MUGEN "style" front lip. While the guys at HondaFitTuner are super cool and doing a lot to make cool things available for the Fit ( i recommend them highly), this lip is a piece of $hit, in my opinion. But I am sort of a stickler for quality and replica junk made in China has never really done it for me. But that's a topic for a different forum.

At 11.6 pounds, I love these wheels. RE-01R's are grip-meisters.

Lose the center caps? I have been debating. Not very "track"to be running center caps, after all.

Looks good, not in love with the offset, but you're going for function anyways. And SSRs are dope not matter what the offset.

Thanks guys. Yeah-- the center caps need to and will go. They are weird looking.

A more aggressive offset would look better, for sure-- but performance and function were the goals, ultimately. This car has to play a lot of roles.

looks good man. well done - for the money you could have gotten some junk 17s and some crap tires. instead you got some nice hardware. good choice!

yeah-- not to get off topic, but I have already been considering that. I actually like the lip but the fitment and overall quality is wretched.

Thanks for calling out the quality hardware factor! That's what I was all about on this one. After waiting months now for my KW s/c, I had to go big and splurge on something nice, because God knows how long it will be before I see that kit. I could find no wheels that compared to the SSR for the WEIGHT and price (mostly the weight though). I looked at Volks (TE37 mostly), but just wheels alone would have cost what wheels AND killer tires (about $155 each) ran for this setup. The ride and handling improvements are astounding, coming off of HFP (HEAVY-ass) wheels and Bridgestone RE-750 tires (which were ok, but no comparison to the RE-01R).

i think they look phenomenal, center caps and all.

i'm sure the newfound performance is due a lot to the tires. weight too, but mostly the tires, those potenzas are beasts!

ssr's are good wheels to splurge on, as they are functional but they don't cost TOO too much like volks do. i think they look great! i love 6spoke wheels!

btw what are you lowered on? you are about function over form, which i approve of wholeheartedly, so can i assume you are running a full suspension set up?

Not sure-- that's what they sent. I am taking them off though-- at least to see what they look like without. I would have done the black but the wife gave a fat veto on that (she uses the car too). She's cool with the anthracite though.

eldaino-- thanks! and I am on Skunk2 Pro-C coilvers which I have had for several months now and truly 100% love and recommend. I have a lengthy review in the suspension forum from a while back and to this day they are really great for both DD and serious performance.
Now if I just had the KW s/c with Hondata I would be just over the top stoked. But who knows when that will be .

I'll post a shot with the caps off-- might add the SSR sticker and see how that looks. But looks or not, (tastes will vary) function and performance needs are satisfied with this setup.

Funny you mention the SSR stickers. Mine came with SSR on it out of the box, and Type-C stickers to stick on if I wanted to XD
