Well, hell, it will be an '09...what about tires/wheels?
I had picked out a set of Blizzak winters on alloy rims from the Tire Rack (we've done business before, and I'm a happy customer) for what I thought was a soon-to-be-mine '08 Fit.
My local dealer now says that there will be no more '08s, and mine will be an '09.
What do you guys have for the new model?

Whatever you picked for the 08 will need rethinking unless you choose stock size tires, aka 185/55x16 tires. The 09 has a wider track because the axle width changed and therefore ALL offset considerations are in limbo. Until some of us get an 09 to fidget with tire recommendations are not available here. For right now a rim width of 7" on an offset of 50 mm is only a potential wheel. (stock may be 53 mm)
We found only a Bridgestone and a Dunlop tire (one is a winter tire, Blizzaks) available in 185/55x16 sizes. It appears somebody at Honda wants to put all this lowering to halt. Can't say I blame them, some of these lowering things are truly hazardous and potentially serious reductions in Fit resale values. Looks are not a substitute for performance.

I have no desire to slam our Fit; actually, I don't want to give away a single millimeter of ground clearance. Our drive has a high curb, and we get lots of bad stuff to whack an airdam. (I'm out of practice dodging such things; you can just run 'em over with the Jeep) It is my intent to buy another set of rims for the winters, and I'm not adverse to going with 15", as long as the rolling diameter stays the same.
Blizzaks are what I want for winters.

The caution is for aftermarket wheels. The 09 is different from the 08. 185/55x16 Blizzaks are on TireRack. Just don't expect aftermarket wheels.
Are you really a car enthusiast?

Also, using springs only shouldn't be counted as improving performance. The spring & damper are supposed to be tuned in pairs (which coilovers are)
Obviously u haven't read some of his posts here...
take it easy, i believe he's talking about the extreme lowering...in those cases, the driver wont be able to run as fast through the corners without rubbing lolz...don't even think about "improve performance"
