tire comment....
Just wanted to take a minute and share my experience.
We got pretty dumped on snow wise here in eastern Ohio. Broke a lot of records for the month of February. In the fall, I decided to wrap the original Fit Sport wheels with a set of Blizzak's for the winter. I've heard and read good things about them and they weren't all that expensive.
I have to say, I'm impressed. The Fit seems to do really well in the snow anyways, but I live outside city limits, where very little plowing gets done, and most of my friends live in the sticks where little if any plowing gets done. There were times this year that the car was dragging bottom and just kept going. I had friends tell me, "You brought the car up here instead of the truck? How'd you get it up here?" The combination of the tires and the car itself took it through some pretty heavy snow pack. And I can't lie, it's fun blasting through snow drifts.
If anyone is thinking about the Blizzak's for a winter tire, I highly recommend them over the standard all season tire. All season is fine for most people, but it depends on where you...and your friends live. Keep in mind too that in the summer, a different set of wheels and tires go on the car as I'm pretty sure that Blizzak's would dissolve fairly quickly on pavement. So far though, they've worn beautifully and you really can't see a tread difference.
