Quiet all season that is good in snow?
Quiet all season that is good in snow?
It seems to me that the best tread for snow would also be the loudest. That is certainly true for most all terrain truck tires, like the General Grabber AT2's, I got from Tire Rack for the Tundra.
The question is, in 155/55-15, what is the best snow traction all season tire and is it the loudest?
I have a theory that noise = energy wasted, just like heat. Without getting into specific LRR tires, the best mpg would be from a quiet tire, other things being equal.
Due to the unusual climate here, summer is desert dry, but snow can fall from October thru April, rain performance is at the bottom of the list of requirements for me. Dedicated winter tires are out of the question because I can be in snow and and 80 degree weather within an hour.

ive never really thought about tire noise being wasted energy wasted when purchasing tires. All seasons aren't usually that loud to begin with. At least not the ones that i've ever had. I have no idea which would be more quiet.
