GD and GE Sport OEM Wheel Costs

I am curious what everyone thinks these days the going rates for the OEM wheels/tires are. Seems that some people think they can get ~$900 for them. I find the "well they are for sale on ebay for..." or "they sell for X at the dealer...." very humorous. Also seems like the for sale posts can be more than a set of nice aftermarket rims with tires.

In my experience searching this forum and others it seems the the GD Sport rims with tires and TPMS's are going for ~$350 for the set and the GE Sport rims are going for ~$400 for the set, both plus shipping. Shipping for these combos for all four run ~$85.00 via Fedex.

I missed out on a couple sets and have been looking for a GE Sport set for my GD. I searched the forum and found some good threads with info. I thought this would be a good way to consolidate some information so people in the future can get a good idea.

Post what you think, thanks. Below are a couple posts I found.

$350 GE8 Set for sale

$450 obo GE8 SOLD

$450 GE8 set for sale

Hey. I am looking to get rid of my stockers as I just picked up some aftermarket rims. My wheels have no curbage or damage at all and the tires have about 11,500 miles on them. Are you interested? I can send you pics.

Forgot to mention. Make sure to know if you want to keep your TPMS's that you will have to have the tires removed. Most tire shops charge ~$35.00 per tire to mount and remount. Also they will REQUIRE you to rebuild the TPMS's at ~$12.00 each. That would total $188.00 without tax.

Also, make sure the aftermarket wheels can work with the TPMS's. You can see in the pic below the cut and flat area required.

Yeah $900 is way too much for the stock wheels. Nobody in their right mind should fork over that much dough for these wheels. The MSRP is set high, but the market value for them is way low.

I'd say the going rate for a set of GD wheels is approx $300-350, but you can get them even cheaper if the seller doesn't really care and just wants to get rid of them. I don't know about the GE wheels since I haven't dealt with those myself, but I would expect them to be right around the same range, maybe $25-$50 more just because they're newer.

doctor--and keep in mind that the GE wheels are 16" which are more desirable for some.

Tires makes for also an interesting conversation.

The 16x6" OEM GE, Tires 185/55, Offset: 55, Center Bore: 56.1, Bolt pattern: 4x100 come with the (tirerack.com prices):
Dunlop SP Sport 7000 $80 each (diameter 24.2" and 863 revs per mile)
Bridgestone Turanza EL470 $116 each (diameter unknown)

There is only one other tire available:
Bridgestone Potenza G 019 Grid $88 each (diameter unknown)

This makes it a little harder selection wise (only 3 tires!!) but for me I still like the OEM look

The 15x6" OEM GD 195/55, Offset: 55, Center Bore: ??, Bolt Pattern: 4x100 come with the terrible:
Dunlop SP31 A/S $99 each (diameter 23.3" and 892 revs per mile)

But the selection ballons to 37 tire choices.

Any other tire sizes that keep the OEM circumference sizes and such??

Just some more food for thought.

Well, 205/50/16 seems to be a popular choice around here.

The circumference is slightly taller but there are way more choices in this size.
