Need advice: BBS RS 003 fitment (7x16 +25 on EDM Jazz)
Need advice: BBS RS 003 fitment (7x16 +25 on EDM Jazz)
Hey guys
I've just returned from a local shop over here. I am really frustrated. Told them that I can buy a set of old BBS RS wheels that they couldn't offer. I asked them to give me some advice on the fitment of the wheels (one of the employees told me that he runs BBS RS on his VW), rebuild them, purchase tires and get papers for local authorities. Except for the old rims, they could have made some money. All they answered was that they couldn't make money with this. They obviously told me to leave their shop. What the heck...
Anyway: Can you guys help me out with an advice? Since JDM wheels aren't really allowed over here, I want to roll on old skool BBS RS 003, 16x7 +25. I ran 17x7 +42 before and it was kinda flush in the front. Do you think the BBS wheels fit? Tires would be 195/45/16. The car is lowered on Tein s.tech springs.
I read that a guy runs identical wheels on the rears, so I'm optimistic that it's okay. But what about the front? I don't want to run super stretched tires.
Do you need any other information? What other aspects do I have to consider?
Thanks for you help!

FYI: I can't run BBS RS. Local authorities only tested 7x16 +30. With a lower offset, they can't guarantee a safe handling. This does not seem to be reasonable at all, but I can't change laws.
Therefore, they won't approve these wheels on the car. Wonderful.

Damn that sucks! I don't understand the law but that really sucks ! I have 16x7 in the front and 16x8 in the rear with a +24 offset bbs rs ! I stretch in the rear but not the fronts and I've been driving around fine !!! But hey it's all good buddy! I'm sure there's something else u can do!! Just find other bbs with a higher offset!
I have the bc's in white as well and i love them. I have the version with the blue stripe but personally i think they look sick on ur yellow fit, i wouldnt go the bbs route.
and another thing, those are some crazy laws u got that they can tell you what wheels u can and cant use. But isnt bbs a german born company?? i find it strange germany wont allow german wheels....... unless im missing something.

In addition to that, I need to run something that is street legal here.Damn that sucks! I don't understand the law but that really sucks ! Some manufactures only tested 15 inch wheels with 6 inch width and kinda lame offsets from +55 to +40 for the Jazz/Fit. And only on 205/50/15 wheels which are performance killers for our small engines. 16 inch wheels with 7 inch width have been tested with offsets from +45 to +30. Therefore, local authorities only allow wheels within these range. For sure, they want to minimize their liability in case of accidents due to the car's specs. That's they reason why there are so few JDM inspired cars. And if you get to see a nice Japanese car, a lot of parts are definitely not street legal.
Nevertheless, this whole law thing is really complicated. I understand safety aspects but everything seems to be protectionism to me. I think I have to go with BBS RX214. I already have a copy of the survey for my car with all the restrictions such as widened fenders. Gawa (https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...heels-fit.html) ran BBS RX on his Fit and I think they are okay on a yellow car. But I guess I have to get them in white at least.

What do you guys think?
