Diy tpms light eliminator

Ok so iserched and could not find a write up for this with working pictures. I decided to do this, and fiqured since our site is growing with new people this may come in handy for others.
If you like this write up bump it up and throw some rep my way.

Soooooo....I nor FitFreak.net is responsible for you @#!%$%^ up your car. Do this at your own risk. BLAH BLAH BLAH.....

You will need:
Phillips Screwdriver
Tweezers
Electric tape
Patience

First you must pull the ring cover off the gauge cluster. It just pulls off, but be easy dont death grip it off.

Pull Here.On both sides.

These are the clips that hold it in.

Next you will see these four screws. Remove them.

That removes the shroud surrounding gauges.

Now you must remove the Five screws holding the top shroud on.

This is the top shroud removed

Now you must unplug the three harnesses on top of the gauge cluster. They are the typical push and pull type clips. Once these are unpluged the whole gauge assembly can be removed.

Now with the assembly on the table it too must be disassembled. Note the piece of tape im eliminating.

Now disassemble the assembly by unclipping these.

Now for the cool part. Lift up the gauge face right here, and install a piece of tape on the BOTTOM SIDE of the TPMS area. I did two pieces to insure it worked.

Use tweezers now

Reinstall everything in reverse. As you can see the TPMS letters can still be seen, but NO light is on.

Wow, seems so complicated but thank you for the nice write up. I remember with my 2000 Civic SI, all I had to do was twist off the bulb behind the cluster. I know this because I got scammed when I bought a 97 Civic Sedan and was shocked when I took it to emissions and failed.

Good walk through for those who don't want to re-install their TPMS.

Repped for oldschoolness! I did a similar thing with my 2000 civic. I had the CRV gauge in there (amber) and it was auto (but i had a manual) A little black tape and magic, it's a manual one

Fantastic!

That is a great old school trick! Now I can swap in my new rims and not have to worry about the damn light!

' It is for us wheel whores that change wheels with our boxers. I have had 8 different sets of wheels on my car in a year. You do the math on reprogramming fees. If it is not reasonable for you to check your own tire pressure like pre 08 cars this is best for you to keep tpms. Me I check my tires.
