Bad tires...HELP!

Okay, I've got an 08' Fit Sport with 78,000 on it and I'm in need of new tires....this will be my 4th set and I'm getting pissed....

I am a very easy driver. I never speed or corner too hard, I drive like a grandpa. I also always rotate my tires at every oil change (every 5,000 miles) and I always get an alignment with a new set of shoes. I also keep an eye on my tire pressures...

WTF am I doing wrong?

First set lasted 23,000 miles...Okay I can see that they were the stock Dunlops. The second set, can't remember what brand they were but they were supposed to be 50,000 mile tires and I paid a good sum for them, got 32,000 out of them. Didn't push the issue as the dealer was having a great sale on Yokohama's so I just got those. These were rated to 55,000 miles and they are shot now at only 23,000 miles.

As far as I know I'm doing everything right...my car just seems to eat tires. What the hell can I do? What tire can I buy that will not wear out so quickly.

I honestly drive like an old guy. I just don't get it. Frustrated......

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

Crap!? I'm just now looking for new tires for my '08 Fit Sport and it has48k miles on it!
Yours is just like my kid and his shoes?! He tends to go thru a pair in months as I would in same number of years?

Where do you live? All city driving?

I pulled 76000 and another 70+ out of two sets of the Dunlops. I replaced them this time with Kuhmo Ecowings from Tire Rack but now they can't be found. They had a 60K warranty.

We do mostly highway but still, you should be getting better mileage. I run between 36 and 38 psi.

Everything else you are doing sounds right. Maybe try a different alignment shop. Also, if you have any pics of your worn out tires I would love to see the wear pattern.

Just rolled 180,000 on the 07 Fit and only on the third set of tires.

At 39200 miles I installed my 3rd set of tires... I still have a mixed matched set of Dunlops and Conti Pro Contacts that have a few thousand miles of wear left on them... It is hard to rotate them enough when you get a little carried away with using the throttle pedal too freely and letting the supercharger build boost to redline... The 205 50 16" Goodyear Authority tires from WallyWorld have yet to break loose, are very comfy, quiet and seem to stick very well on curves.... They are pretty much the same as their GT tire but with a little different tread design and have a 400 tread wear rating but stick very well in spite of it.
