Looking for Some Color Opinions

Alright, I am thinking about picking up an extra set of track wheels and powder coating them. I have a few ideas and wanted to see opinions or hear ideas. I will be coating these wheels myself and this car will be running vinyl for my powder coating business so I want it to look unique on the track but not over the top at the same time.

To avoid possible drama let me make two things clear.

1. I am sticking with stock wheels as I am limited by my race class
2. These wheels will only be on at the track as they will have slicks.

With that said, here are a couple quick photoshops of a few colors I like the idea of. Please feel free to vote and post with constructive ideas or comments.

Black is a natural with racing tires on a track car.... The bright florescent colors were the rage on bicycles in the early 90s and only lasted long enough for me to end up with inventory I had to lose money on to move them out of my shop. A guy was making a fortune in Dallas at the time rebuilding old bikes and spray can painting them Black.....He is still doing it.

Ive seen some orange fits with purple wheels that look really good. My vote would be purple, but I would play around with the shade until it looks best with the orange on your body

Great so far guys.

I know black will look good but, it certainly isn't going to make the car stand out at all. Especially considering about 80% of cars at the track with aftermarket wheels have black wheels.

I am leaning toward the purple. Granted darker than the pic, the shade changed when I loaded it up.

Bump for any new ideas or comments.

Green seems to be winning so far.

Thumbs up Fun Time

Thanks Keith
Funkster, W/ the BOM a flip/flop purple, dark off light and in ur face metalic purple in light. Here's an example:

The stokkerz are pretty heavy! I went to a 12lb rim off ebay 4 for 249.00 and sprayed them to kinda match the car. (It'll help all around w/ braking, steering, acceleration) if you're doing a set just for fun let the kreative kolorz roll.
EnJoY !!

Ya, I know. I am stock with the heavy stock wheels because of the limitation of autocross classes. I can go with an aftermarket but it has to be the same diameter, width, offset and weight anyway so there is no real point.

Powder blue - like the Gulf GT40's and Porsche's bodywork - or a slight variation on that to suit that particular orange. (Maybe with an orange rim pinstripe?)

I would have to agree with, not really liking the colors you've posted, I'd go with Mikes rim colors

Chameleon paint/flip flop like posted or blue with metal flake. That stuff they sell in spraycans works fine, i've used it to paint a set of stock wheels or two and it held up great. I didn't even bother clearcoating it.

Gold with orange flake if you have your own gun and can mix it.
