195/65r15 on GID Fit?

OK first-gen owners:

I can get a set of Altimax Arctics in 195/65/r15 for $50. They are in great shape and one season old.

However – is anybody running 195/65 on their GD Fit Sport?

Urgent question, please, as I have an appointment to see them today.

EDIT: the tire calc shows a 1.6 inch larger diameter. This is .8 inches "more intrusive" into the wheelwell.

I wouldn't consider these except that they are almost free. I'll probably buy them anyway and resell if I have second thoughts.

they will physically fit, but your odometer reading will be off.

Not sure if you're lowered or anything, but doubt there will be other issues

Hmm, I pickd them up, and they are definitely bigger than my current 195/55/r15.

I will have them mounted on one wheel, and test before I decide to mount the rest. They are so nearly new that I might sell them to raise money for a properly sized set.

Argh I do really feel your pain, but I'm so short on cash I'm also selling my Miata. I need to get, say, $150 for the tires because I'm planning on flipping them. Or some sort of cash equivalent. Amazon gift card? Home improvement gift card? Tire Rack?

So... what ever happened to the test? Did you run the 195/65R15's? If so what were your results?

I sold the tires. I didn't want to risk it. Not that there was a TON of risk, but I knew I'd be stuck with the tires for 2-3 years and I didn't want the hassle.

So I'll be looking for a set of 195-55-15 tires. I did notice that 65 series snow tires were WAY more common than 55 series in 15 inch diameter. I have still not seen 55-series snow tires pop up on Craigslist.

Tire Rack has a $70 coupon for Michelin Xice2, and they are on closeout as well.
