Falken ZIEX ZE-912

i just bought a used '08 fit sport with OEM wheels. it came with falken ziex ze-912 tires on it. i know absolutely nothing about tires, so i'm just wondering if these are decent tires, or should i be looking for something else?

Falken 912's are my year round every day tire. They are classified as a "ultra high performance all season tire" which really just means that they are relatively soft tires with good grip that wont let loose in the rain. In fact, I have them on my 08 in a 205 50 15 size and think they actually handle a little bit better when its slightly wet out. I have a little over 10K miles on my set and run aggressive front camber, and they don't have anything but normal wear. All in all, rotate them whenever you do oil changes or every 5K which ever comes first and use them up! Much better than the OEM Dunlops

Yes, decent budget priced tire. Way better than OEM Dunlops like TPC said. I've been using the ZE line for years and in the price range (cheap!) I haven't found anything better. Currently on my second set of ZE-512 for the Fit, slightly better traction rating than the 912 at the expense of mileage, 30k vs 60k(?) for the 912.

512's are great, but they are for sure a super soft tire. I actually briefly had a pair that were 195's "stretched" onto some 15x8's that I ran all the way up the cost into Oregon and back. They were a little beat up even after the single road trip, but then again I'm sure the "stretch" and my right foot didn't help

Mine lasted about exactly the advertised 30k miles with timely rotations. I like that they are softer compound and give decent grip, at least they let you know when they're going to start giving with a progressively louder song haha I had some 3x more expensive Pole Positions (RE960 I think?) that didn't tell you anything before they started going and I just ended up facing the wrong way in the canyon they were awesome in the rain I will say.

For $65 a tire who cares haha

Excellent all-around tires for the budget conscious. I have them on my Fit. Definitely a lot quieter than the OEM Dunlops. Just my take.

from my experience they are garbage tires. they look okay, subpar grip in the warmer months and dry. terrible in the wet cold below 40F. i completely blame the falkens for a minor fender bender i could not avoid due to poor grip of these 912 tires. after i got all repair bills from the other party who was 100% at fault, first thing i did was got better tires for the car. at that time, i decided on Fusion tires which are budget bridgestone tires but with uni-t technology made for compacts. they gripped very well for the price. and i usually run top-end tires on my hobby cars so i know what great tires feel like.

for your Fit it doesn't really need super sticky tires unless you are competiting. i suggest continental DWS if all season (very good dry and wet grip, i hear great in snow as well), DW for summer, bridgestone RE760's are also good in the wet/dry summer. im sure there are other tires out there by quality brands that you will like.

i personally stay away from toyo, nitto, falken.

I had them on my Mini Cooper in 175/65-15s and they worked quite well. Not exactly cheap in that size, but they are good. If they came with the car, I say keep them on and look for the next set.

On my other car, I run Nitto NT01s and Falken Azenis... but its a RWD and I race it.

A lot of Miata owners have them due to running 14" wheels not a lot of options in that size and they seem happy with the cost and performance. I think they have a 65k mile warranty but I never really ever had a tire in recent history that last up to the warranty.

I've run the 912's on several of my cars for the past few summers and been pretty pleased with them.

I've used those and I wasn't very happy with them; they were a-okay in the summer and terrible in the winter. Those are the tires that made me get summer tire for the summer and winter tire for the winter after I almost crashed on a set of BRAND NEW tires in the winter. Do it right and get two sets of rims and tires .
