17" Wheel/tire confusion for GE8, set me straight!

After doing lots and LOTS of reading, I finally decided on a wheel/tire combo for my GE8.

17x7 wheel, +45 offset
205/45/17 tire

I thought this would be a fairly safe set up, even a bit conservative... But after a response I got in the offset thread, its got me gun-shy now.

Using all of the popular wheel/tire/offset calculators on the net, it 'looks' like I should be fine.

I'm just worried about the fronts. I don't want any wheel or tire poke, and all the rubbing issues that go with it. I know I'll have no issue with the rears (if anything I may need a spacer).

I'm lowered on H&R springs, which have me sitting a bit lower than the Swifts. I'm not tucking, but I have next to no gap.

I'd like to stick with the 205/45 tire, because a 205/40 tire just doesn't look right.

I just want to make sure I double check everything one last time, before laying down the cash on new wheels/tires.

Thanks everyone.

You will be fine! That is a very conservative size.

I figure I will be, but the thought of having the front wheels 'poke' a bit -especially when I'm not doing the whole hellaflush thing- it just looks rediculous.

I'm only really worried about the fronts rubbing, etc. I know there is a ton more room in the rear.

I am running 205/50R16 on 16x7 wheels with a 42 offset and H&R springs. The front is fine, the rears rub a bit under unusual circumstances. You should be ok.

Just looked at maybe running a different tire size.

Yokohama makes a 195/45/17, which is an even better fir than the 205/45's

Hmmm...

Ive 17x7 OZ Superleggera 37 offset running goodyear F1 GSD3 195/45/17
No rubbing and tyres sit fine on rear and flush on the front. These tires are the correct ones to give the same rolling diameter as OEM. I ran 205/40/17 for a while but fuel consumption was about 4mpg worse!
