I've been searching and reading this forum for a while now, trying to figure out if I can repurpose my 195/65r15 winter tires for my new 2013 Fit. I was about to sell them, since the car they were on (a VW Passat) was traded in. However, they're pretty new, and I wanted to make sure I can't just get them put on some appropriate rims and throw them on the Fit.

Stock tires for the LX for 2013 are P175/65r15, so I think this this new tire would be 2cm/~0.8 inches wider, which might not be good for winter (I'm reading that narrower is better?).

In addition to being wider, they're also larger in diameter by about 5%; that would throw the speedometer (and odometer and fuel consumption gauge) off a little. You would probably be better off looking for more properly sized tires; however, these are close enough to work safely if necessary.

I'd use them if I was in need of snow tires and had them already..
