14" Kosei K1 TS General AltiMAX RT43

Stock wheel --> DISK, WHEEL (15X6J) (MAXION WHEELS)(BLACK) per Bernardiparts.com. According to Hondapartsnetwork, this wheel weighs 17.99lbs (18lbs).
Stock tire-- > TIRE (P185/60R15) (84T) (BS) (ECOPIA EP422 GRAND TOUR A/S) per Bernardiparts.com. Tire weight is 16lbs per Tirerack.
Total weight = 33.99lbs

Just purchased a set of these from Tirerack. Tirerack states the 14" Kosei's K1 TS are 9.3lbs a piece.
185/60R14 General AltiMAX RT43 tires = 15lbs a piece.
Total weight = 24.3lbs

Wow, those are light! I'm thinking about that same wheel, but in the 17x7 size. Make sure to post pics.

I'm interested in your review of these after a few months on the Fit. Grip, cornering, noise, tracking in straight line, hard/soft feel over bumps...?

Considering a very similar setup, except in a slightly taller sidewall to match to 2013 tire specs. Anything you can share is appreciated

The lightest weight with the smallest diameter and highest revs-per-mile were top priorities.

Everything else I'd compromise on but very little. This seemed like the best tire overall, including but not limited to price, light/deep snow traction, ride comfort, noise comfort, treadwear, cornering stability, wet traction and hydroplaning. I didn't see another tire better at the time of purchase (Per Tirerack).

As for the wheel, the Kosei K1 TS 14" rim was the lightest one (9.3lbsl) I could find. Lightweight was the highest priority. Acceleration, braking and steering response have all improved. Gas mileage improved by 2-3mpg (Some of this may be due to the lighter tires more so than the wheel though). The price was acceptable considering how light it is. The only other wheel lighter I could find were Volk CE28Ns at 14" (6.5lbs). They were $500+ a piece vs $119 a piece for the Kosei. Not acceptable!

Thank you sir! I forgot one other rather important info on my tire purchase. It was the lightest I could find at that size (15lbs). There may have been other 15lb tires but they all lacked in just about every performance category. The rest were 16lbs+.

Good to know on the weights. There are undoubtedly more choices with heavier tires, but that kinda defeats the purpose. Tire Rack here I come

Impressive . We have the 43s' ( H-rated ) on our '13 base FIT . These do very well on rain soaked roads with better cornering and ride . The H have deeper sipes than the T rated which should be better for wet and winter conditions . If interested , click the following for pictures of sipe depth . Toyota Yaris Forums - Ultimate Yaris Enthusiast Site , Toyota Yaris Forums - Ultimate Yaris Enthusiast Site and Toyota Yaris Forums - Ultimate Yaris Enthusiast Site .

Thx Odie. The BITOG forum gives me a diverse set of viewpoints. But the tire is overall very well regarded.

Thanks for the welcome Odie, have pretty much used the site for information up until now. The tires will the first real money I put into the Fit, but I'll gladly put my back to the wretched Dunlops.

Tire Rack's description of the H/V indicates Twin steel belts reinforced by two layers of spirally wrapped polyamide, but only a single layer of polyamide for the T.

Is this indicative of stiffer construction on the one version?

I HATED my RT43. Why would you put them on the car if you care about performance?

Loud, no dry grip, no wet grip, bad in the snow.

In other words, the worst tires I've ever driven on.

And that includes the bald Kumho ASX I got stuck on when it snowed before I had the opportunity to take the SSR's off of my Civic.
