Got some Comp 2s the other day
I have no opinion so far, I've barely driven on them, but they have really good reviews and people on Miata.net, which I frequent, seem to like them a lot as a performance street tire. I mounted them on some simple but nice looking 5 spoke wheels that were on my Scion xB.
I used to have RE 11s, which are hard to beat for dry traction, but they were getting worn and I was concerned about hydroplaning since it's the rainy season around here, so I figured I'd get something that had a bit less dry traction but better grip in standing water. They were a lot cheaper than the RE 11s too, about $75 per as opposed to about $125 at Tire Rack. Anyone have these tires? How do you like them?

Yes. They also have 50s, but I thought that little bit of extra sidewall might make for a slightly softer ride, plus the 55s are a touch taller, and I thought that might help a bit with gas mileage.

I've had these tires for a couple of months now. I autocrossed on them a couple of weeks ago, and thought they were very good. Seat of the pants feel was about the same as the RE 11s that they replaced, though they'd probably be at least a second slower. They felt good, were predictable and sticky. I'm happy with them.

I had these same tires on my 99 Miata and they were excellent! You should be quite pleased; they had great traction in the dry and in the rain which was much appreciated. I ran these during a mountain run and they had unreal grip for a street tire once they heated up a bit.
I see that the OP is from CA so this won't be a concern for him, but remember these are summer tires and will not perform well in freezing temperatures.
