Alright guys I have some good news

While in between working on the garnishes I was trying to plan the BYS spoiler build. The first thing I thought of was a unique name. So I'm calling it the Stiffy spoiler!

Next was to place the OEM one I have on the test hatch I have to imagine the spoiler and see how I can do it. I decided to cut off the section that would have to be cut off anyways, and use it to build the arch at the top.

Next I found some half inch pipes and I cut them so I can place them on the spoiler base to levitate the top of the spoiler like so.

Right now it looks like real poop and looks like nothing but some alien like creature out of a bad movie. But tomorrow Ill align and fasten everything down so that I can start filling in the blank spots with fiberglass, and then start forming the shape of the spoiler. Also the ears at the top were cut off. The little two lumps on each side of teh spoiler so that it resembles the BYS spoiler sides.

The way I will be filling in the blanks is by building a frame out of wire or wood, then wrapping it in fleece like you would with a sub woofer so you get even curves. Then glass it, bondo it, sand it, and keep going to finish this prototype.

I started this much sooner than I expected it and plan to have the prototype of this finished at the same time I have the grill finished also. But I wont be able to take this spoiler too far with out a few deposits for funds. So Ill be working out some plans and then hope to collect some deposits which will go towards materials to finish and reproduce this. You can tell its going to take allot of materials

Anyways what do you guys think? I didnt go farther because I wanted to see what you guys think. Should it be taller, shorter, etc.

So does this come with an antenna delete? cause my spoon spoiler needs a short one. this looks like it will hit the base if not the roof. our hatches open up pretty far. just a thought

I hope it wouldn't be a problem. Thats something I would have to see when comes test fitting since I don't have any fits that can swing by for such a quick test fit.

Even if it gets in the way Ill figure something out weather finding an antenna that is small enough to replace where it will allow the spoiler to clear, or even re modifying the spoiler slightly to have it fit.

I was thinking about a wire that hooks up to the spoiler and the frame where it would be installed in a way that when you opened the hatch it only allowed it to open so far... but that's not something many people might want to do.

Basically I'll have to figure that out comes test fitting.

The bottem of the high point or the low point? Like the tips of the bottem of the chopped spoiler, or the bridge?

I think this should be NO taller than 4.5" tall - i've seen real ones and they don't look taller than that, but i've never measured.
