I am new to modifying cars and trying to do this myself as much as possible to save costs. I am trying to figure out what part I need to add the side rails to the roof of my Fit so I can install aftermarket cross bars and a rack. I've tried looking on Amazon and Ebay but nothing seems to work for my Fit. What is the part I am looking for and where can I find it?

 

As far as I know, there is no official permanent railing system for the Fit's roof, otherwise dealers would be selling this too. The sheet metal is so thin too.

You'll need to look into a Thule or Yakima or other quality system where they will sit on the black drainage cover.

I have seen a third gen with a screwed in system, but after waxing and vinyl wrapping my roof and seeing all those small dimples, I cringe at the bolted in systems.

 

I have a Thule system. It is not cheap, but it is designed to Fit perfectly. So far, I really like it.
