Had to take the headliner off but to do this you need to remove wire harness for antenna and electrical cable (for overhead light). These harnesses are fastened to right and left A-Pillars respectively with a clip that positions harnesses toward front of car, away from air bag curtain -- in other words the portion of the clips which attach to the harnesses are offset from the stem of the clip (the portion of the clip that you push into hole in the sheet metal of A-Pillar).
When you remove these particular clips, the stem basically self-destructs. No reasonable way you can avoid damaging clips. Unfortunately, I was unable to source new clips (you need six total) from Honda nor find any substitutes elsewhere.
So I fabricated "new" clip mechanism by removing stem portion of original clips, introducing 5/16 inch hole in original clip where stem used to be and then using some trim clips I happened to have on hand. This works extremely well and allows for easy removal if necessary in future without destroying any clips.
Photos, hopefully, speak for themselves. Original clip, this one only slightly damaged. Modified original clip with stem removed and 5/16" hole introduced.
New clip mechanism in place (as test w/o wire harness).
