GK5 Sport Exhaust Idea

This is what happens when the weather is bad!

Like many I am bummed at the lack of exhausts for the Sport model due to the different orientation of the exhaust hangers (thanks Honda).

Thie first photo is one I found on the forum here is a Sport exhaust. You can see the hanger brackets point to the left and right.

Then I found this awesome J’s Racing exhaust with the dolphin tip. Notice that the left hanger bracket points to the rear of the car.

So looking at this exhaust I then found the exhaust hanger shown below that would slip on the left top post on the Fit but the lower hole for the exhaust is rotated 90 degrees so in theory it would work.

My only concern is how the exhaust would look and fit with the lower valance piece on the Sport models.

I would think that since the exhaust says it is for 15-19 Fits that the alignment would be correct.

Just not sure where the tip would exit and how much of the tip you could see on the Sport model.

When companies say it fits 2015-19 they are talking about non-Sport models. HKS is the only one that I know of that makes a North American Sport specific exhaust.

PS: The J's Racing piece is made for the Japanese model Fit's. Not US spec.

Thanks for the tip regarding the J’s being a Japan Fit fitment haha! Also that’s a great collection of Honda’s.

I’ve been trying to find the new HKS USDM Fit exhaust but haven’t found it in stock anywhere yet.

That is because they are all pre-made to order. You have to pre-pay and wait 3 months, no way around it. Mine should be here by the end of the year.

This is who I ordered mine from. Sadly HKS won't mass produce them because the North American market is so small. I would recommend getting one on order before they stop making them for good. Best of all it was only $375 shipped from Japan, great price even with the wait.

PS: I know it's a BMW specialist shop back east. But that is who HKS sent me to. Sadly HKS doen't handle direct orders, they send you to an official HKS retailer. And the people at Autocoulture Motoring were glad to help me out. No matter what kind of car I had.

Thanks NWCH,

That vendor was one that I had contacted and they were quick to respond and explained what you mentioned. I guess I see the point about mass production since I’m sure it’s a pretty small market.

I have had an exhaust system on every car and motorcycle I’ve ever had. When I first got my Fit and was underneath looking at the hangers I’m still wondering why Honda would use a entirely different muffler and hanger setup only on the Sport model? Seems very unHonda like haha.

Funny my Brother had two Fits and had a J’s racing full exhaust for one of those. He no longer has the Fit but when I got mine he asked me if I wanted to see if it would work. His car was I believe a 2011 and after looking it over it was obvious it wouldn’t just be a bolt on deal.

Just order the HKS. I have ran their exhausts on some of my other cars in the past and they are well worth the money. Especially at under $400 shipped.

On order. I like how the slash cut on the tip fits well with the Sport rear end

Me too! I think that tip looks sharp with the Sport aero back end.

Seems like they dropped the price from 375 to 357!
