engine surge..

07 fit sport us model...
wanted to find out if anyone else has this issue that when u are sitting stopped in drive with engine at idle and with the doors locked already and press the lock button or windows up with window all way up that the engine rev up about 200 to 300 rpms...wondering if it needs battery disconnected and the idle "reset" done or is it just a honda /fit issue that is normal...

Sounds normal, when you hold the window buttons down it draws a lot of current, and the engine needs to make a bit more power to the alternator I think is what's happening.

Yeah I get the same surges once in a while, I have a sub and amp, and when the fans turn on and I'm messing with the windows it happens. They are so short though I don't think it's an issue since they only spin up a few extra hundred rpm for a few seconds.

Normal operation the ELD (engine load detector) is sensing the increased load and automatically raises the engine idle speed to compensate for the extra electrical load.

yeap all cars do it. Plus the Fits motor is rather small so it needs a lil help now and then
