Noises in the morning
Noises in the morning
Please keep in mind when reading the following that I just bought the car and may be paranoid:
In the morning after my nice long 6 hours of rest, I get in my car to go to school/work or whatever the day requires and start my car up. I let it idle for about 30-60 seconds and then drop it in reverse (I have an 08 Auto with 1300 miles btw). Right after putting the car in reverse, while my foot is still deep in the brake, it sounds like a creaking sound comes from my engine bay. Sort of like a loud creaking door or stair sound, like in the scary movies when everyone is trying to be quiet. Anyways, this sound happens in the morning when I put it in reverse and then if I go straight into Drive it does it too.
So I don't know if this is normal or not cause I've owned a stick for the past year of my life so auto is quite new.
Help me out if you can!

usually I hear sorta the same sound when I am letting go of the breaks from a full stop. Maybe its the new brakes. After the car has been running for a little the sound is a lot quieter or completely gone.
It's a totally normal thing the brakes will do on a cold start after a long rest. Auto transmissions want to keep pulling, and the brakes are still cold. The creaking you're hearing probably becomes more prevalent as you just slightly begin to let off the brake pedal to back out of the driveway, or begin from a stop. As your brakes begin to warm up the sounds should go away. Nothing to worry about at all. It's something I've experienced with every automatic transmission I've owned
