HID Hi/Low vs Bi-Xenon Glare

I just installed a High/Low H4/9003 6000 HID PnP Kit from TOPHIDKITS.com. It has a Xenon Low Beam and a Halogen High Beam. It didn't come with that metal thing that goes around part of the bulb.

I've seen the Bi-Xenon with those metal things.

How does the glare of the two compare?

Does the Bi-Xenon with that metal thing reduce the glare by alot?

I'm not sure how it compares on a bi-xenon kit, but on a regular low beam h4 kit the shields help a lot. It prevents the hid bulb from reflecting off the lower housing of the headlight which will project upwards. It creates more of a curved cutoff instead of a straight line like most HID projectors.

The glare shields on the bi xenon kits work extremely well to reduce and elimidate alotof the glare. Ive have both kinds of kits in my fit. Its like night and day with the bixenon kits. The shields are amazing. Of course the best thing to do is also the most expensive and thats to get projectors. But like me i think its a waste to spend that much on lights. But hey if u got the money than do it but if u dont than get the bixenon. They work extremely well and ull be extremely preased.

hey xenith xenons is having a close out - you can get bi-xenon kits with 1 year warranties for $120 shipped in the continental usa.

Xenith Xenons - Premium Xenons in a Not-So-Premium Market

I've had 3 kits from them and I've had nothing but great service and it's a quality product. I just got the new 3rd gen kit and it's AWESOME - bi-xenon, 9003/H4 4300K - it looks like lexus or mercedes type brightness/color.

George from XX is on the forums he'll help you out!

A projector retrofit isn't that much money, and the output is so much better than a hid kit. Projectors concentrate the light into the areas that you need it the most. The whole point of hids are to get more light on the road, so you can see better. Almost all of my cars have had hid projector retrofits because after my first retrofitted car it was hard to drive with anything else.

Same ^^^ Plug and play kits are trash. Falls into the category of chicken wire body kits and huge spoilers. Read this:

That LS430 projector in the fields picture is the best.

This is an in car picture from my old car when the TSX projectors were intentionally aimed low.

Ya i mean the choice is urs. U started a thread to ask a question and i answered it in my experiences with wat u asked. U can listen to me or whoever but the choice is totally urs. I mean the plug and play kits with shields work best for me but not with everyone. I mean anything is better than stock.

Sorry bud I can't keep quiet about this issue. People who cheap out and decide to get a plug and play kit are not only breaking the, but are posing an extreme threat to all other drivers on the road with the massive glare they produce. If you feel ok knowing you endangere others lives just to get the fake HID look then go for it. Upgraded halogen bulbs will be MUCH better than a plug and play kit in terms of output and glare. That is a fact.

By the way those are not true bi xenon they have halogen bulbs. And i have bi xenons and i pointed them and the glare isnt bad at all. Even though i see where people come from with other peoples hids pointing different dirrections. Not everyone has the funds or wants to cut up their stock headlights.

Not having money is no excuse for getting a plug and play kit. Keep it stock or get brighter halogen bulbs.

Its a shame you would do that to such a clean car. Like I said your better off with bright halogens like Osram nightbreakers.

If you keep receipts for the parts you can claim it with the insurance company. They won't pay you back everything, but they'll take the additional parts into consideration.

I think if I got into a wreck the hids on my car would be the least of my worries.

So retrofitting projectors isn't breaking any DOT regulations?

If you see glare coming from someone's headlights, then stop looking at them and look at the road in front of you. The only glare problem I have is when someone has their high beams on.

even some cars with stock hids have bad glare. they are bright as @@@k!
if it has a clean cut off, and as long as you adjust them well, you arent gonna CAUSE someone else to wreck their car. unless they are complete morons that stare at lights in front of them. like a deer.
