aftermarket shift boots

so i bought a t1r suede one a year or so ago and i was lazy and didnt put a ring to hold it up. So after just folding it into itself i should probably finish it. Since it didn't come with any ring, what suggestions would you guys have to finish it off? I'm not sure if the mugen version has a gromet or something to finish it off.
thanks

I've always wondered the same. I just left mine but would like to see how others did theirs.

I took a hanger and cut the length to bend and make the ring, then used small zip ties to attach it to the plastic ring. Since I've made my own shift boots, this seemed to work.

Edit: So you were talking about the top. I didn't use anything.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late reply...

The T1R shiftboots for the GD3 come with a ring, they are actually stitched onto the boot.

I've attached photos for the boot below:

If any of you received a boot with no ring, chances are it isn't a T1R.

Regards,

I think he was talking about a ring on top and not the bottom.

The T1R shift boots actually don't have a ring on the top. We invert the top portion of the boot so it prevents it from sagging.

I know some local guys who actually purchased the boot and for extra safety, they used a zip-tie after inverting the boot and tied it onto the shifter. A pretty interesting fix, does the job and you can't actually see the zip-tie since its hidden between the inside of the boot and the shifter.
