Hey there I've got a 2008 honda fit and I was talking to some one about how when you turn the vent switch to defrost or feet and defrost that the AC will automatically come on he said that he bypassed it and it increased his fuel range by at least 100 km as these are the two settings I use the most I was wondering if any one had info on how to do the by pass it would help a lot 😀

 

There's a switch built into the mode selector knob, and by unplugging it the air conditioner won't turn on (unless the A/C button is pressed). There are two electrical connectors to the knob unit: one is the switch, and one is for the nighttime illumination. The one for the switch is on the bottom of the knob, I believe.

To get to the connector, you need to remove the dash panel underneath the center stack.
