Question Need a compass

The one thing I missed the most is the built in compass in my PT Cruiser before I bought my 2017 Honda Fit SW LX.
There has to be a good compass to use but I'm not sure if there's some magnetic interference from the dashboard...???
Because when I bought a stick on compass... it kept hitting EAST.

Suggestions, please?

Thanks so much! ~punkin59

Depends where you want the compass to be. For me it was either on top of the steering wheel cover, or down by the shifter.

I eventually got an auto dimming mirror with compass built in.

Me too. I had a compass in my 97 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC that was totaled by a guy in a Toyota Tundra that fell asleep at the wheel. Bought the Fit to have something completely different and love it, but I do miss the compass.

There was once (and still may be) a manufacturer named Airguide that made high quality automotive magnetic compasses. I have one in my pickup and although I have a separate GPS accessory, I like having the compass because I know instantly if I'm headed in the proper direction without having to mess around with the GPS.

Just keep heading East and you'll always be right.

Get a compass that has adjustable compensators. Once installed. Adjust for the 4 compass points with the engine, radio and heater fan on. In aviation this is known as swinging the compass. With a GPS driven compass it's simpler. Here are a few ideas:

And don't bother with cheapos.
