Auto dimming mirror Help!

i want to install auto dimming mirror in my fit 2008.

Is the only option i have is to glue a mount onto the wind shield?? I want to know if it is safe. like will it fall off.

Where is a good place to buy the whole setup at good price?

Amazon has the a good one for ~150 but it doesnt say if the windshield mount comes with it.

Ebay has some too but the are around 200

Anyone have advice and recommendation ? Thanks

Many/most US cars have a metal wedge glued to the windshield. The mirror slides onto that. Here is an example of a dimming mirror with Homelink that uses a wedge mount.

Note: I haven't looked very hard at the Fit mirror mount, so I don't know what particular method it uses. I found the above-linked mirror in a discussion in another thread in one of these forums, so I suspect that the Fit does use a wedge mount.

Here is a description of wedge .vs camlock mirror mounts, with pictures. They also sell glue-on wedge mount kits for cars that normally have roof-mounted mirrors.
