Consumer Reports lists Fit as 8th most reliable car.

It's actually not horrible at all. Keep in mind that those graphs on carcomplaints.com are relative to other Honda Fit years. And most of those complaints are about the seats. If someone finds the seats acceptable to their own satisfaction, then it doesn't matter that others complain about the seats. One thing that I wonder about as a potential Fit buyer is, did Honda actually update the seats at all since 2015? It doesn't look like it. One of the main complaints is that the head restraint is tilted forward a lot, so for some people it makes them hold their head tilted forward (for those that presumably like/need a more upright seatback position).
Since I'm the one that provided the carcomplaints.com site suggestion in the first place, here are some other things that you should know when using the site as someone that's looked at it a bit longer. They get their data from complaints to them, and from the NHTSA. So often the recent model years, like 2016+ or 2017+ might look better just because there isn't enough data. Also the problems of cars that have low sales numbers don't really show up on the site. For example, there's not much indication of Tesla's high frequency of repair on the site.
For cars that have enough data, and are notably good or bad, Carcomplaints.com does have seals. For example the 2011 Civic has a "Seal of Pretty Good", the 2000 Civic has a "Seal of Awesome", the 2015-2018 CRVs have a seal that says "Beware of the Clunker", and the 2010-2011 Prius has a seal that says "Avoid like the Plague". Also notice that there's a horizontal scroll bar under the model overviews, so you can scroll back to older model years - I didn't notice that at first because the scroll bar style is different. Other interesting things are on the front page, where you have "Best Vehicles", "Worst Vehicles", and "Current Car Problem Trends".

To my knowledge the seats are unchanged except for fabric pattern.
There's been quite a lot of discussion here about the seats. Some love them, others hate them, and it seems that height and weight are irrelevant. I'm thankful I find them very comfortable, and have no pain after 10 hours driving.

The seats in my 2015 Fit or my 2004 CR-V are both less than stellar, but I prefer the seats in my 2015 Fit better. I can see how people would complain about them, as there is not much lower leg support on those seats. The side bolstering and back support to me seems decent, even above average for the segment.
Reliability wise, I agree the 2015 Fit is not horrible and Consumer Reports gives it 3 stars for reliability and not 5 stars like the other years. It's more average with what other makers produce. It's not a horrible or unreliable year. Just if you feel you can avoid picking up a 2015, then you probably should. I will drive my 2015 Fit till it dies... I own it I don't feel bad about buying it.
Remember they changed very little in 2016 and beyond, if anything it was getting the supply chain and the Mexico plant up to 5 star par which they clearly did. They released a bit early and the early birds paid a price, this gets repeated time and time again. It clearly affects Honda too. All makers need to get to market and then fix bugs.

Sorry this is behind another paywall, but you can see that Honda is not very high (barely in the top half), in Consumer Reports 2019 list of best Car Brands for reliability. Fit is the best Honda model of all they receive surveys on, but the maker is now down to number 14.
Ouch. Toyota reigns supreme, and Subaru is back to legendary, after having a rough time in the early 2000's.

The first model listed is the more troublesome make, and the right one is the best reliability. This is all about reliability and not customer satisfaction which is different. You can see drop in rank next to their 2019 ranking.

I just read the CR article yesterday in the dentist's office and was pleased to see the Fit got good marks. I was surprised the write-up complained about the Fit's loud cabin and uncomfortable seats which made it "unfit for long drives". The author must have really high standards. I took a 6000 mile road trip last November and can't complain about spending two weeks in the car.

I believe that the original CR review of the car was on a 2015 Fit and everything they say now is still based on that. They have not done an update review in spite of the fact that Honda made improvements to soundproofing in the 2018 Fit and I suspect might have made some seat improvements somewhere along the way since there have been few complaints about that in recent years. I believe that a new review from CR would rate it much higher than it was although that's not likely to happen with so many brand new models from so many manufacturers demanding their attention.
And yes, seats and sound were two common complaints by owners I've seen mentioned elsewhere on the early models in this series. Neither is an issue on my 2018.
