So I just bought an infrared thermometer, and was wondering if it's a good way to measure temps, such as trans fluid, coolant, etc.


🤔 anyone ever used one of these for their fit? If so, what do you measure?

 

You can maybe use it to measure exhaust temp per cylinder pointing it at the exhaust manifold coming out of each cylinder?

As far as coolant temp and other stuff. Your cars computer usually measures it. I would just buy a $4 OBD2 bluetooth scanner from China and buy an $8 app such as Torque for your phone and use that. Then you can pull up fault codes and get real time information that your cars computer is seeing
