im gonna do my front shocks and hardware next weekend. I’m simply looking for a stock replacement and going with the KYB G2. . I was wondering if it was necessary or r commended to replace the OEM strut bump stops/bellows. I can’t really inspect it before disassy and was hoping for some advice.

are the bump stops often broken or cracked? Is the OEM part rubber or plastic? I’ve read pretty much only bad reviews for the KYB bump stops. Any other brand to recommend?

 

The bump stops are basically hard rubber sponges. And the only way to know whether you need to replace them is to actually inspect them.

When I did my second suspension replacement last month, my factory bump stops still looked fine. However, I've read (on the internet as a whole) about bump stops cracking and what not depending on the environment.

So, YMMV.
