November 2019 v November 2018, the Fit showed 54% comp sales, which is great.

But even if the trailing end 2019 sales look good percentage-wise, how much money can we expect Honda to spend retooling for a car that is selling under 40,000/year?

I think they have done the right thing.

Let’s see if 2020 continues the trend they started seeing at the end of 2019.

The yen v dollar ratio is good, so JDM models can be sold here. They save retooling by continuing JDM GK5 for export.

Meanwhile, they have a year to get the bugs out of the new design and determine
whether the late year trend was an anomaly, or a trend.

There is no money spent on Fit marketing. Maybe a small campaign focusing on overall long term reputation and reliability, practicality and driver engagement could prove the Fit is still a viable proposition in the US and Canada.

This is welcomed news for Fit owners - more GK parts need to be produced and therefore part costs will be lower. Everyone is buying SUVs until they drive in my Fit (impressed with room; and for the 9/10 times a solo driver is commuting with the SUV - they're impressed with my Fit gas mileage). Sure Honda stealers dealers will be using the Fit to up-charge people into the HRV; but for the money - the Fit's value is great - especially the LX model.

Yikes, I'm getting so many mixed signals here.
Had my 15 Fit to the dealer this morning for a oil change and check up.

Talked with the sales guy, I've bought my last two Fits from (the 15 and a 18).
He told me that they were told by Honda, there will be no 2020 Fits imported to North America, and he has heard nothing at all about a 2021 Fit.
They are making HRV's at the Mexico plant.
He also said, they are selling Fits as they come in, and they have had a very good sales year for the 2019 Fit.
He remarked, why advertise the Fit, when they sell quickly without advertising.
They currently have a waiting list for Fit's of every color except Black, it appears they are getting almost all Black Fits at this time, and they had two on the lot this morning.

I really want a Fit (Jazz) Hybrid, like they are selling in Asia, and all of the 2020's were supposed to be hybrids.
I think the gas engine Fit is on the way out.
So, I'll wait another year, and see if the 2021 Fit ever shows up in North America, and if it is a Hybrid.
