We've updated the results for the Fit to include owner experiences through March 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2008: 12

2007: 22

Both are much better than average.

A big thank you to this forum and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in August and November. Excellent participation by Fit owners, but with more the results would be even more precise.

That might be a secondary cause. But then you've got to remember how much fun hybrids are to drive

Updated results later this month.

We're going to start providing new stats for the odds of requiring no repairs and the odds of getting a lemon. These require larger sample sizes, so additional participants would be helpful.

As it is, the Fit is one of few models where we'll have these stats for all model years (except the 2010, for obvious reasons). Couldn't have done it without this forum--thanks.

For the details, and to sign up if you haven't already:

We've updated the results for the Fit to include owner experiences through September 30, 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2008: 15

2007: 15

Both are much better than average.

We've also introduced two new statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

In the case of the Fit, the percentage with no repairs is about 88 for the 2007 and 94 for the 2008, while the percentage of lemons is less than one for both.

A big thank you to this forum and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in February and May. Excellent participation by Fit owners. The more owners participate, the more precise the results.

Total Satisfaction

Hey, you can remove this post, or move it to wherever it belongs, if you like.
My 2007 Fit Sport Auto now has 90,500 miles, and has had no problems. It needs front brake pads now, which I am going to do tomorrow morning. Other than that, just oil changes, tires, rotations, filters. No mechanical issues at all. It is still just as tight as a brand-new one. I love my Fit.

Just enhanced the related repair history survey so that it can (optionally) be used as a personal car maintenance record.

As always, more participants would be helpful. Updated Car Reliability Survey results in May, with a preview for participants in mid-April.

2008: 15

2007: 14

Both remain much better than average.

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

The percentage with no repairs is about 86 for both the 2007 and the 2008, while the percentage of lemons is less than one in both cases. These are extremely reliable cars.
