We've updated the results for the Fit to include owner experiences through June 30, 2010.

Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the more recent months until the summer or even fall of next year.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2008: 14

2007: 20

Both remain much better than average.

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

The percentage with no repairs is about 81 for the 2007 and 87 for the 2008, while the percentage of lemons is less than one in both cases. These are extremely reliable cars.

Thank you, once again, to this forum and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February. The more owners participate, the more precise the results.

Starting this month we have a new question to measure, as objectively as possible, the severity of a problem. Many people have been asking for reliability stats that weight problems by how severe they are, and once we have enough responses with the revised survey we'll start providing this.

Also this month: updated reliability stats.

As always, the more owners participate, the better the information we can provide to everyone.

My 2007 model that was purchased in July of 2006 and has 39,330 miles hasn't required any attention other than replacing the tires, oil and filter changes, a couple of belt adjustments and spark plug replacement because I just wanted to... It has been supercharged for over half of the mileage on the odometer.

I will have had my Fit for 6 years in 6 weeks. Other than maintenance I have done myself and performance modifications I have also done myself there hasn't been a wrench on it except once for a new set of tires... I need to add that I am an old man that doesn't drive much so there isn't a whole lot of miles on it.
