Headlights causing something to overheat??
Headlights causing something to overheat??
Hi! I'm a newbie here! I joined because I'm having a weird issue with my car and wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this or had any suggestions/info. I have a 2010 Fit Sport.
Whenever I have my headlights on, the buttons on the dash (fan, volume, etc) get very warm. It doesn't take long. It's just the headlights doing it - the daytime running lights and the smaller indicator lights don't do it (or at least, if they do it takes waaay longer, too long for me to notice it). I also think that something down by my feet is warming up too although I haven't pinpointed where.
Nothing else seems to happen. No warning lights have ever gone on. Nothing on the dash stops working or acts weird. I don't smell anything burning.
But clearly *something* inside is overheating.
Has anyone else had this issue? I asked my mechanic last time I brought it in for an oil change and he didn't know. He suggested that I contact Honda and the Better Business Bureau. Does that sound right? Has anyone ever done that before and could tell me how to go about it? Or should I just get a second opinion?
Thanks!
