This is news?? Cheap cars are cheap?

I have heard that used car prices are up, on average. Ppl are on the margin deciding to buy a used car instead of use public transit. Of course that only applies in places with public transit, but it doesn’t take much of a supply demand mismatch to start influencing average prices

TL/DR: The Fit is one of the best bargains out there for a wagon/sedan.

I did the same - there were plenty of used Fit (even EX and EX-Ls) for bargain prices but I decided that since I tend to keep my cars/maintained for 10+ years that a new and 2019 GK was a better bet than an older GK. The other reason was that the 2019 CVT LX seems to be sipping gas for my 50-100 mile commutes per day (I get on average 43.8 mpg on 13K miles on the ODO so far; my Company never shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic) AND we were making hand sanitizer batches whenever we could.

Even used Diesel couldn't match the cost of ownership of the Fit nor get the volume of space/$.

I like Honda Fits..obviously....
But my two purchases were both new.

As a new vehicle purchase, I felt I was paying MORE than I would for similar size and styled competitors at the time.

On the used Market? I think Fits can be good deals.
But they are NOT automatically good deals. You have to do your homework as you would any purchase.

Fits being an entry level vehicle, I think can in some circumstance be bought by the young, and driven hard.
A Fit with 130,000 miles on it can be a very different purchase depending on HOW those 130,000 miles were put on it, and maintenance and care up to that point.
But that's true with ALL used car purchases I suppose.

I bought a new 2020 LX CVT for only $1000 more then a 2019 EX with 30k miles. To me with my commute I figured it made sense to go new.

It is a post celebrating the Fit and using its low cost of entry as one more bonus.

Very true, used cars vary widely. I try an keep my used car purchases to less than 40K. Usually less than 30K.
I got my 2018 Orange Fury Sport for 12.5K w/only 3000 miles. She's been flawless.

Yes, all things considered. Relatively low cost of ownership, and longevity of key parts (the engine in particular).

I felt this way at first. Though I've been pleasantly surprised.

True, however i'd be willing to bet with a basic service; (plugs, valve lash, oil, filters, serpentine belt inspection, and test drive: that 130k fit will do anther 100k.
